Can someone provide the maximum flooring deviation height difference between floor coverings e g carpet to wood tile to wood that would be considered a trip hazard.

																	Floor transition height difference.

I m installing some 3 4 pre finished brazilian teak flooring in to a room that previously had carpeting and is adjacent to a room that currently has 3 4 oak flooring with roughly a five foot doorway between the two rooms the carpeted room seems to have 5 8 plywood over the 3 4 floor sheathing.
Transition between 2 floors of different heights.
The leg of the t doesn t touch the floor.
The old one here when i bought the house was no good and i took it out in hopes to fix it but that did not go well.

The strip is supported on both sides by the lips and held in place with nails.
I m looking for some solutions to make this horrible transition between my kitchen and living room better.
Reducer strips operate in a similar fashion to ramps in that they reduce the height from one flooring material to the other.
T molding transition strips have two lips to cover the edges of both surfaces when flooring products differ no more than about 3 8 inch in height.

Transition strips do not bottom out.
And yes i don t think any transitions should exceed 1 2 residential or commercial.
I can not find an irc reference for this.
There is a significant height difference 1 1 2 inches between the new tile in the kitchen and the adjacent hardwood floor.
